How Much Does an Inground Pool Cost in Little Rock? (2026 Guide)

Most inground pools cost roughly $35,000 to $120,000 installed, according to 2025–2026 national cost guides. Vinyl liner pools sit at the low end, fiberglass in the middle and gunite at the top, while small plunge pools often run $15,000 to $40,000. In Little Rock, slope, soil, yard access and decking move the final number most.
Quick answer
Angi’s 2026 data puts the national average inground pool at about $65,909, with most projects between $44,499 and $87,349.
Vinyl liner costs least up front, fiberglass costs least to maintain, and gunite is the most custom and the most expensive.
Plan on yearly costs too: maintenance, chemicals, electricity, and eventually resurfacing or a new liner.

How much does an inground pool cost in 2026?
The biggest single driver is what the pool is made of. Here’s how two of the largest national cost guides price each type, installed. Treat these as a starting point for budgeting: they average projects from across the country, and your yard can land above or below them.
| Pool type | Angi (updated Aug 2026) | HomeGuide (Jul 2025) | What you’re paying for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vinyl liner | $40,000–$75,000 | $35,000–$80,000 | Lowest up-front cost; the liner is replaced about every 10 years |
| Fiberglass | $55,000–$100,000 | $45,000–$100,000 | Factory-made shell, fast install, lowest upkeep; shapes limited to the molds |
| Gunite (concrete) | $65,000–$120,000 | $50,000–$120,000 | Built on site in any shape; plaster needs resurfacing every 10–15 years |
| Plunge pool | Not listed separately | $15,000–$40,000 (avg. $27,500) | Small footprint; inground plunge pools range $10,000–$70,000+ |
Size matters too. HomeGuide puts the typical inground pool at about 300 to 400 square feet, and Angi’s 2026 averages run from about $25,200 for a 12×24 pool to $70,000 for a 20×40. Deeper pools, freeform shapes, tanning ledges, water features, heaters and automation all add to the total. For a closer look at the trade-offs between materials, see our guide to gunite vs. fiberglass vs. vinyl liner pools.
What does a plunge pool cost?
HomeGuide’s July 2025 guide lists an average of $27,500 for a plunge pool, with most installed between $15,000 and $40,000 and inground models running $10,000 to $70,000 or more depending on material, features and installation. Plunge pools are built for cooling off and soaking rather than laps, so they use less water and fewer chemicals than a full-size pool.
Sunrise Pools is an authorized plunge pool dealer. Because these pools are made off-site, they can often be set by crane over a house or fence, which opens up backyards a traditional build can’t reach. Crane access, electrical runs and decking still affect the total, so the same site visit applies. Learn more on our plunge pools page.
What makes a pool cost more in Little Rock?
National ranges can’t see your backyard. These are the local conditions that most often push a Little Rock project up or down:
Slope and soil. Many Central Arkansas yards have clay soil that swells when wet and shrinks when dry, and hillier areas such as West Little Rock, Chenal and the Highway 10 corridor can mean grading, retaining walls or digging through rock. Each adds excavation time and cost.
Access. Established neighborhoods like the Heights, Hillcrest and Cammack Village often have narrow side yards, mature trees and fences. If excavators can’t get in easily, the job takes longer, or a crane-set plunge pool becomes the practical choice.
Decking. Concrete, pavers and stone price very differently, and most pools need a deck or walkway around them. On custom gunite builds, Sunrise quotes usually include about four feet of concrete deck around the pool.
Fencing and permits. The City of Little Rock enforces the 2021 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, which calls for a barrier at least 48 inches high around the pool. If your yard isn’t already fenced to that standard, budget for it. Angi lists permits at $450 to $1,800 nationally. See do you need a permit to build a pool in Little Rock?
Electrical and plumbing runs. The farther the pump, filter and any heater sit from your panel and house, the more trenching and wiring you pay for.
Timing. HomeGuide notes that fall and winter tend to be the slower season for pool installation. Planning over the winter gives you time for design, permits and HOA approval before spring.
What does a pool cost to own each year?
The build is the big check, but a pool has running costs every month. These national figures help you compare pool types over the long haul:
| Ongoing cost | Published national range | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Yearly maintenance by type | Fiberglass $500–$1,500; vinyl $1,100–$1,700; concrete $2,700–$4,000 | Angi, 2026 |
| Pool chemicals per year | About $175 (fiberglass), $400 (vinyl), $750 (concrete) | HomeGuide, 2025 |
| Electricity | $30–$120 per month; variable-speed pump $10–$50, single-speed $40–$150, heat pump $100–$300 | Angi, 2026 |
| Resurfacing a gunite pool | $6,000–$15,000 (avg. about $11,000), every 10–15 years | Angi, 2026; HomeGuide, 2025 |
| Replacing an inground vinyl liner | $3,000–$7,500, about every 10 years | HomeGuide, 2025 |
| Total yearly upkeep | $3,000–$6,000 including maintenance, minor repairs, electricity and water | HomeGuide, 2025 |
Arkansas summers are long and hot, which means more months of swimming and more months of chemistry to keep up with. A variable-speed pump is one of the easiest ways to keep the electric bill down.
If you’d rather not do the weekly work yourself, Sunrise Pools’ weekly pool maintenance for new accounts is $300 per month plus tax, with chemicals billed separately. Most customers’ total runs about $350 to $360 per month. When it comes time to resurface, retile or replace a liner, see pool remodels and upgrades and repairs and equipment.
How do you get a real number for your yard?
Sunrise Pools doesn’t publish one price for a new pool, because two backyards on the same street can cost very different amounts. Here’s how a quote comes together:
Reach out. Call or text 501.246.6789 or send the form, and include a few backyard photos if you can.
Site visit. Sean comes out before quoting any new build. He looks at access, slope, drainage, utilities, trees and where the pool would sit.
Pick the right pool. You’ll talk through gunite, fiberglass, vinyl liner and plunge options, and get an honest recommendation for your yard and budget.
Written quote. You get a quote built for your property, and you can review financing options if you want to spread out the cost.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an inground pool cost in Little Rock?
National cost guides put most inground pools between about $35,000 and $120,000 installed, with Angi’s 2026 average at about $65,909. Your yard’s slope, soil, access, decking and features decide where you land. Sunrise Pools quotes new builds after Sean visits the property.
What is the cheapest type of inground pool?
Vinyl liner pools usually cost the least up front, at roughly $35,000 to $80,000 according to national guides. Plan on replacing the liner about every 10 years, which HomeGuide prices at $3,000 to $7,500. A small plunge pool can cost less overall because it’s a much smaller pool.
Is a fiberglass pool cheaper than gunite?
Usually, yes, both to build and to own. National guides list fiberglass at about $45,000 to $100,000 and gunite at about $50,000 to $120,000, and Angi’s yearly maintenance estimates are lower for fiberglass. Gunite costs more because it’s built and finished by hand in your yard, in any shape.
How much does it cost to maintain a pool per month?
HomeGuide estimates total upkeep at $3,000 to $6,000 a year, and Angi puts pool electricity at $30 to $120 a month. Sunrise Pools’ weekly service for new accounts is $300 a month plus tax, with chemicals billed separately, so most customers pay about $350 to $360 a month.
